[Update] The Nougat update for Moto G4 and G4 Plus is coming out of the soak test, and now rolling out to everyone in India. Motorola has officially started rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat update for the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus smartphones in India. The update brings the Build number NPJ25.93-11; same as latest soak test build with November Android security patches. The OTA update size is 733MB, as the OTA rollout is gradual, so it make take few days to reach you. The Nougat update to G4 and G4 Plus is currently releasing only in India, so other regions should get the update in coming weeks.
It’s a slow roll out, but the Nougat update is now landing on Moto G4 and G4 Plus. Motorola has officially started rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat update for Moto G4 and G4 Plus in a phased manners. Some G4 and G4 Plus users in India are seeing over-the-air Nougat updates. Earlier to this, Motorola has confirmed it’s list of smartphones that will get the Android Nougat update. Moto Z and Moto Z Force were the first Motorola handsets that received the update last month.
A Moto G series owner received a notification for OTA update with build number NPJ25.93-11. He confirmed with Motorola’s live chat support to make sure it wasn’t a soak test. And, it looks like the official Nougat update is rolling out for small number of Moto G4 and G4 Plus users as of now. The company had put a release note for the Android 7.0 update to the G4 and G4 Plus a months ago with no actual OTA rollout. But looks like, it’s happening now.
The Nougat update to Moto G4 and G4 Plus comes with the security update version for the month of November. The Nougat OTA roll out has started batch wise to the owners, so it may take few days to reach you. You can check any software upgrade notification for your handset in the settings menu.
