Sony Mobile has announced the Xperia XZ Premium smartphone at MWC 2017 along with Xperia XZs, Xperia XA1 and Xperia XA1 Ultra. Sony Xperia XZ Premium is world’s first smartphone with Snapdragon 835 SoC and a 5.5-inch 4K HDR display. It also comes with the latest Bluetooth 5.0 technology. It features the same Motion Eye camera from Xperia XZs. Sony says about it’s Motion Eye camera that it captures movement the human eye can’t normally see, with astonishing precision and detail. The Motion Eye camera has a memory stacked sensor and records 960 frames per second, for Super slow motion video.
The Sony Xperia XZ has a 5.5-inch (3840 x 2160 pixels) 4K HDR TRILUMINOS Display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. For the first time in a smartphone, the Xperia XZ Premium has a 4K HDR display – featuring the same technology used in Sony BRAVIA TVs. It is powered by a Octa-Core Snapdragon 835 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM. It comes with 64GB of internal storage and supports microSD card up to 256GB. The phone runs on Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box. It has IP65/68 ratings for dust and water resistance. It comes in both single and Dual SIM variants. It has a fingerprint sensor embedded into the home button. The phone is powered by a 3,230mAh Battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0.
On the camera specifications, the Xperia XZ Premium has a 19-megapixel Motion Eye camera with 1/ 2.3″ Exmor RS memory stacked sensor. The Xperia XZs has Super slow motion video recording, plus Predictive Capture that’s ready to take photos before you are. It has Predictive Capture, Anti-distortion shutter, Triple image sensing technology and 5-axis image stabilisation for shake-free videos. It is backed by RGBC-IR sensor for natural color rendering. It can record 4K video. It has a 13-megapixel front-facing camera.

Sony has not disclosed about the pricing details for Xperia XZ premium yet. It will become available in early summer from Spring 2017. We will update you as we know more about it.
