Android 7.1.1 update starts rolling out to Xperia X Performance and Xperia XZ

Sony Mobile has started rolling out Android 7.1.1 Nougat update to it’s Xperia XZ and Xperia X Performance smartphones. Both the phones received the Android 7.0 update back in November last year. The new update arrives as build number 41.2.A.2.199 which includes latest security patch for April 2017 along with the Android OS version 7.1.1.

The Android 7.1.1 update to Xperia XZ and Xperia X Performance brings new emoji, app shortcuts (the Xperia Home launcher does not support app shortcuts at present) several bug fixes and improvements along with the number of native Android 7.1 features.

As usual, the OTA update is rolling out gradually and it might take some time to reach your device. You can manually check for the update by heading to your handset’s Settings menu. The Android 7.1.1 update is available only in select countries currently and should roll out globally in the coming week.
