Apple iPhone hits 1 billion sales milestone

CEO Tim Cook announced that Apple recently sold the billionth iPhone in an employee meeting held in Cupertino. Apple has achieved this target in less than 10 years. In the third quarter of its 2016 fiscal year, which ended on June 25, Apple sold 47.5 million iPhones, and iPhone sales were down 14.9 percent year over year.Apple_One_Billion

Cook said-

“iPhone has become one of the most important, world-changing and successful products in history. It’s become more than a constant companion. iPhone is truly an essential part of our daily life and enables much of what we do throughout the day. Last week we passed another major milestone when we sold the billionth iPhone. We never set out to make the most, but we’ve always set out to make the best products that make a difference. Thank you to everyone at Apple for helping change the world every day.”

Apple has not disclosed the name of customer who is the owner of billionth iPhone.

Cook has also highlighted the Indian market, which makes possible jump of 50 percent in iPhone Sales as compared to last year. Japan, Russia and Turkey also had strong sales in the third quarter. The company has also seen a large number of Android converts this year.

In these, Apple is getting ready to launch iPhone 7 and 7 Pro which will go official in September . But Company has not confirmed the exact date of the Apple event.
