Google Assistant is not coming to Android tablets, Google confirms

Earlier this month, Google brings the Google Assistant integration to the eligible smartphones running Android Marshmallow and Nougat. Earlier to this, Google’s personal voice assistant was available exclusivity to the Google Pixel smartphones. But many users are wondering that what about the Google Assistant on tablets – will tablets get Assistant? The official blog post by Google only mentioned Android smartphones with no talk of tablets whatsoever.

Now a Google official has confirmed that the tables won’t getting the Google Assistant any time soon. So the Assistant will be limited to Android phones and will not expand to tablets, as said by the Google. A Google official clarified that:

The Assistant will be available on Android Marshmallow and Nougat phones with Google Play Services, this does not include tablets

We are not getting that what’s the difference on a software level between an Android phone or a tablet when equipped with Google Play Services. Also the Google did not specify the reason for bringing the Assistant integration to the tablets. But this doesn’t rule out the possibility of tablets getting Google Assistant at a later point in time. And we hope that Google would change it’s mind for not rolling out Assistant to the tablets.
