As promised, Google has made available Android 7.1.1 Nougat factory images and OTA files for all current Pixel and Nexus devices. These includes Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel C, Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, Nexus 9 / 9 LTE and Nexus Player. Along with the Android 7.1.1 software upgrade, this update brings December’s Android security patch. Android 7.1.1 Nougat update includes a lot of new features, bug fixes and improvements.
Build numbers for Android 7.1.1 devices individually as follow:
- Pixel / Pixel XL: NMF26O
- Pixel C: NMF26H
- Nexus 6P: NMF26F (all carriers except Verizon)
- Nexus 5X: NMF26F
- Nexus 9 / 9 LTE: NMF26F
- Nexus Player: NMF26J
The official OTA rollout process for the software upgrade would start shortly, if it hasn’t already. As usual it will take many days until all supported devices receive the update notifications. But if you’re impatient and know what to do with, you can download the Android 7.1.1 Nougat factory images and OTA files for your respected device from the link below:
Only the Nexus 6’s factory images or OTA links aren’t available yet. It has received new builds as well, but they’re still Android 7.0-based. We hope the latest Android 7.1.1 factory image for Nexus 6 will also be made available very soon.
Important: These files allow you to manually update your Pixel / Nexus devices and will only work if your device has an unlocked bootloader. One should also note that installing these factory images will erase all data from the device. While it may be possible to restore certain data backed up to your Google Account. If you know how to flash these files manually then you can update your eligible devices to latest version of Android. If you don’t, then you should wait for the official update notification for your device.
