Google releases Android 7.0 Nougat source code

Google has released the Android 7.0 update last week to the supported devices and the Nexus owners are already getting the nougat treat. If you are not one of those lucky Nexus owner then you have to wait a little more for official notification for the update on your device. But if you are open to custom ROMs on your device, then your long wait will soon come to an end.

All the developers out there will be happy to know that Google has officially released the Android 7.0 Nougat Source code. So the developers out there are finally able to build Android 7.0-based ROMs from source code. CyanogenMod has already begun to integrate Nougat under the CyanogenMod 14.0 umbrella for the Nexus 5X using the source code. Other devices will follow the suit soon.

Android 7.0 Nougat Source code

It’s a matter of time before you can flash custom ROMs based on Android 7.0 Nougat right into your own devices. Also, don’t loose your hopes if you own a device which lack official Nougat support (Snapdragon 800/801 based devices lacks support to Nougat). Developers out there working hard, you’ll have to wait a bit longer to taste customized Nougat on your device.
