LG X Screen smartphone with dual display launched in India for Rs. 12990

LG has launched X Screen smartphone in India which features 1.76-inch diagonally ‘Always-on’ second screen, in addition to 4.93-inch HD primary display. The phone was announced during the MWC earlier this year. The LG X screen’s ‘Always-on’ secondary display will show notifications for apps, calls without interrupting the current activity or just display music controls. The second display also allows users to easily access frequently used apps, check time, date, battery status and other notifications without ever having to turn on the phone.

lg-x-screen-sos-featureThe LG X Screen features 4.93-inch HD In-cell Touch display with a resolution of 720×1280 pixels and the secondary display has a resolution of 520×80 pixel. The phone is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM. It packs 16GB of inbuilt storage and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The phone comes with 16GB of internal storage and it can be expandable up to 2TB (whooooo) using MicroSD slot.

Another highlighted function of the phone is it’s panic button feature which is in line with the Government of India’s initiative. LG is advertising the phone as “first phone with SOS mode”. The secondary display will also show the SOS button, the panic button can be activated by pressing the power button five times in a row.

Availability and Pricing

The LG X Screen is priced at Rs. 12990 and will be available exclusively via Snapdeal starting from July 20th. Although the phone come in Black, Pink Gold and White color variants but it seems X screen will be available only in Black and White colors in India. Maybe LG will launch other color options later.
