After the release of Android 7.0 Nougat update for the Nexus devices, all the other OEMs are preparing themselves to push this major update to their eligible devices as soon as they can. Today, Motorola has confirmed the list of it’s smartphones that will receive the Android 7.0 update first. The list of eligible devices includes Moto Z series and Moto G4 series smartphones. Motorola will release the Nougat update to these devices starting from Q4 2016, that means sometime in between October and December.
Here’s the list of Motorola devices getting the Android 7.0 Nougat update first:
- Moto Z
- Moto Z Force
- Moto Z Play
- Moto G4
- Moto G4 Plus.
On the question of other Motorola handsets such as Moto X family and other members of Moto G series, Motorola says “upgrades are about getting it right and making sure the phone performance remains the best it can be,” and will “share upgrade plans for other products and more specific timing later.” That concludes if your handset is not in the above list, don’t loose your hope. The company might add more devices to this list in future. We will update you regarding the company’s update as some more news will come out. Sony and HTC has already confirmed their list of devices for the Android 7.0 Nougat update. And, a leaked presentation slide from a press conference of Sony also revealed the company’s plan about when the eligible Xperia devices will start receiving the update. Samsung, as always will take it’s time to make the announcement for the Nougat rollout to it’s smartphones.
