Moto Z and the Moto Z Force smartphone owners on Verizon have been getting reports of the device receiving an OTA update for Android Nougat 7.0. Although Verizon hasn’t officially announced anything about this update. Users have already started downloading the update manually.
The new software versions of OTA update for Moto Z-Droid & Moto Z Force Droid are as below-
- For the Moto Z-Droid: NCL25.86-11
- For the Z Force Droid: NCL26.86-11
The size of this OTA update is close to 1,500MB and estimated installation time is 20 minutes. As mentioned in installation notes, the new Nougat features Split-screen mode (you can do multitasking with apps on screen at the same time), App quick switching (app switcher will let you switch between two most recent apps), Quick Setting Customization (You can add, remove, and re-order your quick settings in the notification panel.) and more.
These are the first Marshmallow devices to be updated to Nougat and also this is the first Nougat update for Moto devices. If you don’t have notification yet for OTA update, follow below steps to update your device-
- Open “Settings“.
- Go to “System Updates“.
- Check for system update.
