Google is showing more love to the Nexus owners around the world with it’s latest Nougat updates. This is all thanks to Google that it’s continues supporting the Nexus devices with latest software upgrades, even after the company is now into the smartphone market with it’s very own Pixel and Pixel XL. Earlier this week, Google has released the final Android 7.1.1 Developer Preview 2 for Nexus devices. And now the news is coming out that Google will rollout the Android 7.1.1 software update to Nexus devices globally soon. This is fine move from Google with many Nexus devices already running Android 7.0.
Here’s the latest info in coming from Vodafone Australia that Google will rollout Android 7.1.1 OTA update to Nexus 6P on December 6. This latest software update will come with security patch update for December 2016. Starting with Nexus 6P, hopefully, the other eligible nexus devices will fall in line soon as well. The only question is the timing, it is very likely that the LG Nexus 5X, Pixel C, Motorola Nexus 6, HTC Nexus 9 and Asus Nexus Player will also receive the latest Android Nougat 7.1.1 update around same time, in December.
The new OS version will bring the new circular icon look for the launcher and long press app shortcut menu, the new Storage Manager and image plus GIF support for the AOSP keyboard, and more. Adding to this, it will also bring both Daydream VR and the new seamless updates which require compatible hardware on your device.
Coming to Nexus 6P, which will definitely getting the latest Nougat 7.1.1 OS update on December 6, Vodafone Australia has mentioned more about the software upgrade. The Firmware Over-The-Air update is approximately 650MB with angler-03.78 baseband version and build number NMF26F. You’ll be prompted when it’s available for download.
