Qualcomm has announced a new and fast charging technology- Quick Charge 4.0. You will get a flavor of this with the next generation Snapdragon 835 processor. Snapdragon 835 processor was announced recently. As per Qualcomm statement, Quick Charge 4.0 will give 5 hours of battery life with 5 minutes of charging. In comparison to Quick Charge 3.0, Quick Charge 4.0 is up to 20 percent faster and 30 percent more efficient.
The chipmaker company is claiming that with just 5 minutes of charging, your smartphone’s battery will be charged enough to offer 5 hours worth of battery life which is impressive**. Also, your smartphone’s battery will be charged 0 to 50 percent in just 15 minutes**. If you are worried about the quick charge heating problem, the new technology runs 5-degree cooler than the before one. This new technology will take place with the upcoming devices which will be powered by Snapdragon 835 processor and we are expecting these devices in the first or second quarter of (Q1 or Q2) year 2017. This is because the power management chips are going to be available by the end of this year 2016.
**Based on internal tests charging a 2750mAh fast charge battery and using the maximum power for the thermal limit of 40C for all charging implementations. Charge time based on 0% to 50% utilizing 2017 charging implementations (September 2016).
