Earlier today, the most awaited smartphone game Pokemon GO launched on Android and iOS devices. You can download the game here. And now, it’s look like there are many heartbroken fans around the world who are not able to run the Pokemon GO on their smartphones and taking to Twitter and Facebook to express their disappointment.
Pokemon GO is an augmented-reality mobile video game that uses your phone’s camera and GPS to capture, battle, train, and trade virtual pets who appear in your surroundings in real world.
Unfortunately not all phones have the same hardware installed, and this means not all phones will run Pokemon GO. You are facing the same problem, here’s why.
Here’s the list of supported devices from from Niantic’s (Game developer) site:
Android
- Android 4.4 to Android 6.0.1
(Android N will not supported until the official Android release) - Preferred resolution of 720×1280 pixels (Not optimized for tablet)
- Strong internet connection (Wi-Fi, 3G, or 4G)
- GPS and Location Services
- Intel CPUs are not supported
iOS
- iPhone 5+
- iOS 8+
- Strong internet connection (Wi-Fi, 3G, or 4G)
- GPS and Location Services
- Jailbroken devices are not supported
The site also suggests that due to the heavy rush of Pokémon GO downloads, some Trainers are experiencing server connectivity issues (if your device have no compatibility issues).
In addition to all this, Google play download page adds some more reasons to why the game is not running on your smartphone. Here are some reasons:
- Compatible with Android devices that have 2GB RAM (it’s too much, but you can still check on your device with lesser RAM).
- Compatibility is not guaranteed for devices that are connected only to Wi-Fi networks.
- Not compatible with Android devices that use Intel Atom processors.
If you are not having any above compatibility issues, then you should keep trying. As the game demands for GPS functionality and internet connection, you must have a strong data connection.
