In last couple of days, Sony mobile has officially started rolling out Android Nougat update to it’s smartphones. The Xperia X Performance and Xperia XZ smartphones are now getting the Android Nougat update in very first batch. The Nougat update roll out for other eligible Xperia phones will be followed according to schedule.The Nougat update brings multi-window support, previewing media in the messaging app, self-timer on the camera app, improved battery stamina mode and much more.
Sony has released a video to highlight the new features of the Android 7.0 Nougat update for Xperia devices. There are many improvements and new features that will improve the Android experience for Xperia owners.
Some of the new features include:
- Multi-window support – multitasking made easy; run two apps simultaneously and double tap to switch between each
- Longer battery life – do more for longer, with improved battery life powered by Google & Sony Xperia
- Messaging – more ways to tell your story with our latest Messaging app, enabling you to share videos and audio with a few taps
- Manual camera settings control – all-new manual focus and shutter speed controls, now available for Xperia X Performance
- Home screen – a smarter and more personal Xperia home screen, with Google Now integration

Sony has also confirmed that in coming days it will make Android 7.0, Nougat available for Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z4 Tablet, Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact, Xperia Z5 Premium, Xperia X, Xperia XA, Xperia XA Ultra and Xperia X Compact. SO all Xperia Owners out there – wait & watch!!!
